The 940 Dance Company will perform a dance about letters and words, Word Dance, an updated Goldilocks and the Three Bears, choreographed by Michael Ingle, as well as poems by Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss set to movement by the dancers. They will also perform Prismatica, a dance with moving lights viewed through special glasses that will give audiences a different way to look at movement and dance. This is a concert not to miss, an entertaining and educational afternoon to expose children to the amazing skills and technique of a professional modern dance company.

The Youth Concert will also be presented to area preschools on February 18th as a part of a pilot Pre-K enrichment program and also to Lawrence area school groups on Thursday, February 19th at 1pm. The Thursday performance is offered to school groups at a discount rate. Those interested in bringing a group to the Thursday performance, should contact Candi Baker at 843-2787.

The 940 Dance Company (formerly the Prairie Wind Dancers) is a five-member company, based in Lawrence, Kansas. As a professional contemporary dance company their work is mainly focused on exploring and communicating the commonality of human experience through dance theatre.
