Children Enjoy Eagle’s Day in Lawrence KS

The return of the eagles to our lakes and rivers is cause for celebration. Jan 25, 2009 Lawrence children and their parents will be able to celebrate and enjoy the return of  these magnificent animals. This  Annual Eagles Day, in its thirteenth year is sponsored by the Jayhawk Audubon Society in Lawrence, Kansas. 

This event for the whole family, will feature lots of hands-on educational and fun activities for kids as well as special presentations by renowned experts from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and a chance to view some of the live golden and bold eagles.

And best of all, it’s FREE!

Eagles Day is held at Free State High School, 4700 Overland Drive, one block north of the intersection of 6th St. and Wakarusa Drive.

  1. I found this by accident and took the kids there today. They had a great time. This was a very nice activity for children in Lawrence. The injured eagles were beautiful but a little sad to learn that they get hurt so often. The other activities were also a lot of fun for the kids. Please let us know when you hear about activities like this.
