Sports Activities – Mean Injuries

Spring is here and sport activities abound

But that also means that injuries will increase. Some can be prevented

At least if I believe the post I read on a Lawrence Dentist blog. Dr Gatti, who is a cosmetic dentist here in town, does not provide care for children until problems arise in their adult teeth. But I just read his post about fitting children properly for mouthguards.

Little did I know about mouthguards. I knew of course that they afford protection for kids in sports activities, and other activities where they may be injury to the teeth. It does stand to reason that the mouthguard should be fitted properly to be effective

With today’s cost of dental work and the price we parents sometimes pay for braces and other appliances, it is only normal that we should protect our children’s teeth correctly. I advise you today to please consult with your child’s dentist if he or she is practicing a sport that could cause trauma to the teeth.

Wishing you a very happy sports season filled with fun and good times, building memories and remember that this is all for the kids. If you would like to read on how to be a terrific sports parent (our kids expect no less of us) I recommend that you read this book.
